Week of May 25

Hello Tigers and Tiger Families,
We hope you are all enjoying the weather while staying safe and socially distant!  Wear your masks!

Here are a few reminders for this week:
1.  Math and Social Studies work is shifted to Wednesday and Friday this week (because of the Monday Holiday)
2.  Office Hours will be scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday as usual, at 9am and noon.
3.  Tiger Team meeting will be on Friday at noon.  Join us for some fun!
4.  Progress notes will be available on Wednesday in IParent, so stay tuned!

Memorial Day Weekend

 Happy Memorial Day Tigers!
Please remember to honor the veterans in your life this weekend, somehow.
Also, please note that there is no school on Monday, May 25.  We will be shifting the Math and History work to Wednesday and Friday next week, so plan accordingly.

Announcements

Hello Tigers!
Here are some announcements to end our week.  We hope you have a safe and productive weekend!

• Students will be barred from entering comments on the Google Classroom pages, as we have found that they become a distraction from the work being posted.  To communicate with your teachers, please use the new student emails that you must set up if you haven't done so yet.  Instructions here ↓
• Students must set up student gmail accounts!  The instructions from Mr. Curley are linked here.
• Locker Contents will be distributed according to the schedule sent by email from Winthrop Public Schools titled: Student Lockers.  Please refer to that email for more details, but here are the basics:

Saturday (5/16). We worked with our custodial crew and placed all student items into bags. Each bag is labeled with a student name, locker number, and homeroom. During this process, our staff took the necessary precautions based on recommendations by the CDC.

• We will be asking our 6^th and 7^th grade families to come by Winthrop Middle School this Saturday (5/16) to pick up their child’s belongings. Here is the process we designed for Saturday:
  • To help alleviate traffic, we created the following schedule:
    
    • 7^th Grade Falcons = 9:00-10:00 am
    • 7^th Grade Wolves = 10:00-11:00 am
    • 6^th Grade Lions and 6^th Grade Jaguars = 11:00-12:00 pm
    • 6^th Grade Tigers and 6^th Grade Jaguars = 12:00-1:00 pm
    • Any 8^th grade families who did not come last weekend may come on Saturday as well.
  *If you don’t wish to pick up your child’s belongings from their locker and you prefer we that we dispose of the items that we bagged – please fill out this form (click HERE)
